Meet Natasha Celestain who is currently a Senior Associate III in the Accounting Outsourcing external team based at one of Aegis’ clients where she provides accounting support across all areas in their business. Natasha shares her experience with Aegis started out as part of the internal accounting team where she was able to grow and develop her strengths.
Why did you decide to pursue ACCA with Aegis?
I wanted to build a strong foundation, comprising of practical hands on experience as well as knowledge. To be confident in the work that I put out, to be able to learn from others as well as share information which would all contribute to building a good professional reputation that I can be recognised for.
How was your experience managing work and studying?
It was difficult at first, generally we would have deadlines which would sometimes mean having to sacrifice some study time, but mostly managers are understanding, and we are allowed time off for study and exams which is beneficial closer to exams.
What advice would you give professionals considering joining Aegis?
They need to have an open mind, two things will make you successful
- Having a ‘can do it’ attitude
- Keeping in mind that it doesn’t matter how much you know,there is always something to be learnt.
What advice would you give professionals considering to pursue accounting with ACCA?
ACCA prepares you for the world of work in accounting and also business management and how to deal with changes in the economy. It’s not just about balancing books, it’s about analysis, interpretations, finding solutions using strategies applicable to real life situations. In order to get through it you have to motivated, open minded, determined and adaptable to change.
What are you next steps with ACCA and Aegis?
I am currently in the process of applying for membership with ACCA. I hope to continue to learn and develop by attending ACCA’s seminars where applicable. To continue to grow and develop and share information at Aegis

Aegis is a great place to be for budding professionals, you can learn a lot. Having a positive attitude is key.
